Ekiti: Oyebanji to Inaugurate Commissioners, Special Advisers

Ekiti State Governor, Biodun Oyebanji
The Governor of Ekiti State, Biodun Oyebanji, will inaugurate the reappointed commissioners and Special Advisers on Tuesday, December 9, 2025.
In a statement made available to Journalists in Ado-Ekiti, on Monday, by the Special Adviser (Media) to the Governor, Olayinka Oyebode, the ceremony will take place at Jibowu Hall, Government House, Ado-Ekiti by 4.00pm.
The Governor had last week forwarded a list of 18 former commissioners to the State House of Assembly for screening and confirmation.
The list include Bolaji Aluko, Taiwo Olatunbosun, Akintunde Oyebode, Ajobiewe Kolawole, Folorunso Olabode, Dolamu Adeniyi, Karounwi Oladapo, Peju Babafemi, Atibioke Ojo Olaiya, Tosin Aluko, Awe Abimbola Olufemi.
Others are Patrick Tedela, Seun Fakuade, Adedayo Gold Adesola, Kareem Makanjuola Akande, Rasaki Ojo Bakare, Kayode Fasae and Femi Ajayi.
Meanwhile, Governor Oyebanji has appointed Bunmi Talabi as a Special Adviser.
Until the new appointment, Talabi was the Senior Special Assistant to the Governor on Special Projects.
Also, the Special Advisers that were affected by the cabinet dissolution have also been recalled and would be inaugurated alongside the Commissioners on Tuesday.
They include Jide Awe, Tope Ogunleye, Gbenga Agbeyo, Yemisi Ayokunle, Gbenga Oloniyo, Oluremi Babington, Kemi Olaleye, Abiola Olowokere, Akinleye Sunday, and Ayeni Odunayo Adeola,
Following the dissolution of the state executive council on August 10, 2025, some commissioners and Special Advisers were retained in the cabinet in view of the sensitive nature of the assignments they were undertaking at the time.
The decision to recall all the former members of the dissolved State Executive Council was jointly taken by the leadership of the All Progressives Congress (APC) and stakeholders of the party, who impressed it on the Governor the need to re- present them to the Assembly for confirmation instead of appointing new set of commissioners.
The leaders and Stakeholders are of the opinion that appointing a new set of commissioners could be counter-productive in view of the coming governorship election in the State scheduled for June 20, 2026.
